At 1530 today Andrew continued his journey with a barnacle clean bottom. He is really pleased to be underway again and feels like he is going faster already, which is a real lift to his spirits. It makes a big difference knowing the hull is clean. He says he will not really begin to relax until he is at least 30° S and into the Trade winds, so fingers crossed for the next few days. Andrew chuckled when I reminded him this was his third time round the Horn within two weeks – that surely is some kind of record in itself!

Hurrah for the clean bottom! Keep your your spirit up and your woolly briggs on. Just a few days close to the wind and you are in the tropics again. Flying fish on the deck, poled out jib, sun on your back. Enjoy the cool weather, you’ll only see it again in Shetland!

Glad to see you’re under way again. When I was up at Ian and Shirley’s recently Ian reminded me that in the past square riggers often took weeks to get around the horn. Won’t be long ’till you’re up the pacific wi da sun on your back. Really enjoying following the logs.

Glad to see you sailing again. Hope all goes well… It’s kinda funny to be sitting here in Norway with a weather forecast page that opens with the weather for Cape Horn… We’re always thinking about you. 🙂

All the best Andrew, good to be able to see where you are and how well you are doing. Your family must be so proud of you and I expect Terry wishes he was back there with you. Look after yourself. Best wishes Davy, Ann & Joe.
